What is PX+ Festival?
The first of its kind: a long weekend of amazing food and drink, talks and demonstrations by and for the hospitality industry.
When is it?
24 – 27 August 2018
At Duchess Farms, a privately owned farm in the Hertfordshire countryside, but within easy reach of central London.
How do I get there?
See here for travel options.
A shuttle bus from Harlow Town Station to the festival site will be running throughout the weekend at a cost of £2 per journey.
Who is invited?
This event is specifically for people working in or connected to the hospitality industry, as well as supporting industries, such as farmers, makers and suppliers. However, each industry guest may bring a non-industry plus one.
How old do I have to be?
You need to be 18 and over to gain entry to the festival. We will be adhering to the Challenge 25 scheme for buying alcohol, so remember to bring your photo ID.
Can I bring children?
No, the festival isn’t suitable for under 18s.
Can I bring dogs?
We love dogs and they would love Duchess Farms, but sadly no, as we don’t want them getting lost or injured.
What is included in the ticket price?
Full weekend access to the festival, a pitch for camping, daily breakfast and coffee, access to all talks and workshops these will need to be booked in advance via the tickets page on this website.
Why is there only one ticket type/price?
This is our first year, so we are keeping it super simple as well as very good value.
What will the name of the charge show as on my statement?
Stripe Payments UK
What experiences are extra?
We are offering a number of dining experiences with guest chefs, sommeliers and bartenders that will be available to book via the tickets page on this website. Spaces are limited, book early to avoid disappointment. In order to provide extraordinary, never seen before culinary events and masterclasses, we are allowing guest restaurants to charge for these to cover their costs and each will be individually priced.
Additional talks, music performances and tastings will be free of charge, but booking in advance via our website is recommended. We will however keep a number of tickets back for walk ins on the day.
When will the experiences be bookable and how?
Experiences are now bookable here.
Are there any discounts?
If you have an early bird ticket or are under 21, you can invite two more guests and one of those is free. Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to take advantage of this offer.
Are there any volunteer opportunities?
We have a limited number of volunteer positions. If you are over 18, and working in or hoping to work in the hospitality industry, please contact Martha at email@example.com
Where do I sleep?
A pitch for camping is included in the ticket price.
Glamping options along with an already pitched tent and necessity pack on sale here. Our glamping tents are fully furnished bell tents, with a 3m tent that sleeps two and a 5m tent that sleeps four. We only have a limited number of glamping tents and they can be booked here.
There will be showers and toilets provided at no extra cost!
There are also B&Bs and Airbnb options nearby.
What if I can’t come for full weekend?
There is only one ticket, hospitably priced at £155. You will need to buy a full weekend ticket and use it for the days you can make it.
What do I wear?
The usual casual wear for unpredictable English summer weather. Bring waterproofs, and/or wellies and walking boots, warm clothes for the evenings, a hat, sunglasses – a selection to cover all eventualities.
Who has already bought tickets?
The list of sign-ups is growing every day and many exciting names and businesses have already bought tickets, check a selection of the list here.
What happens to the charity partner £1 contribution?
We will be donating £1 from every ticket sold to Hospitality Action.
What food and drink options will there be?
As this is a hospitality industry event there will be an amazing array of food and drink on offer, all with hospitable pricing. And don’t forget, breakfast each morning is included in the cost of your ticket.
Can I bring my own food and drink?
There will be no cooking facilities on site, all our food and drink is at hospitable pricing and we are encouraging guests to take advantage of this pricing and instead enjoy the food at the festival.
Please do not bring alcohol on site.
There will be a number of water stations across the site and we will provide everyone with free drinking vessels at registration on site.
What about if I want some down time?
The Rest + Rejuvenate tent will run a full schedule of relaxation classes, including yoga and meditation, throughout the weekend, bookable here. There will also be a designated chill out area. Plus, as this is a relatively compact festival, the camp ground is a three minute walk away from the main festival area if you want to head back to your tent.
Lets be respectful
There will be a lot of great guests from the industry at the festival, and we ask that attendees enjoy their company and their food and demonstrations etc, but leave the selfie sticks at home.
Whatever the weather, this will be an extraordinary event. Never before has such a diverse group of people come together to share their ideas, experience and love of what they do and their hopes for the future of the hospitality industry. This is the beginning of something remarkable and we are delighted that you want to be part of it.
